| The White House plan does call the IHRA definition “the most prominent” definition of antisemitism, but obfuscates it by also acknowledging the Nexus Document and the Jerusalem Declaration, which seek to diminish the IHRA definition of antisemitism. The major omission in Tammi Rossman-Benjamin’s article, “Why DEI Programs Can’t Address Campus Antisemitism,” is the failure of Jewish organizations that supposedly are responsible for fighting antisemitism to also call out the White House. The American Jewish Committee, Anti-Defamation League, the National Council of Jewish Women, and Democratic Majority for Israel are absolutely silent on this and unwilling to use their influence to obtain a change in view at the White House. This is a huge failure of leadership. |
